Edgewood has a long and interesting history dating back to 1833. Dr. William Tolmie, a Hudson’s Bay Company trader, was the first non-native to pass through the area. As more people came west, families started making the North Valley their home due to its lush, fertile soil. When Washington’s first telegraph line came through the area, it further established Edgewood as a place of settlement. Today, Edgewood is a small but thriving community. The City is launching a major review of development opportunities along Meridan Avenue East, with plans to incorporate a Town Center featuring mixed use commercial and residential development.

Every July, the city of Edgewood puts on its annual Community Picnic. This event features games and prizes for the kids, as well as booths by local businesses and organizations. The picnic has a main stage featuring live music, food vendors, and other family-friendly activities.

The city puts on a monthly Movie Night typically held at the Edgewood City Hall. A variety of movie genres are shown and is a good night out for the family.
