Liberty Lake is located east of Spokane in Spokane Valley and is a community full of culture and history. Once known as “Spokane’s Inland Seashore,” Liberty Lake drew Spokanites by electric train with its exceptional beauty and recreation. The town features one of the best Fourth of July celebrations in the Pacific Northwest. With its proximity to Spokane, a number of activities and events are close at hand.

Every May since 1977, the Lilac Bloomsday Run is the world’s largest timed footrace enticing over 40,000 participants yearly. The run is over 7 miles and starts in downtown Spokane and ends at the Monroe Street Bridge. Frank Shorter, the American Olympian, was the run’s first winner.

The Liberty Lake Farmers’ Market offers a great selection of locally-grown fruits and vegetables, flowers harvested from regional farmers. The market also offers vendors selling baked goods, meats, and crafts. This community event is open from May to October on Saturdays.
